HACER

RESEARCH. COMMUNITY. IMPACT.

Hispanic Advocacy and Community Empowerment Through Research

OUR ORGANIZATION

HACER is the only advocacy-driven, Latino-specific research organization in the Upper Midwest. Founded in 1988, we began to address the lack of information about the Latino community, as well as Latino issues in Minnesota’s public discourse. Since then, HACER has grown and evolved to serve Latinos in Minnesota through research, focus groups, workshops, programs, and more.

Our passion for our work has led us to recognized across several organizations and media sources on the local and state level.   As HACER continues to grow, we’ve been able to expand our methods to reach more community members each day. By working together to spark equitable change in the state of Minnesota, we are hopeful that these changes create a ripple effect in surrounding areas.

HACER engages in partnerships with community members and advocates to inform policy around many issues. If you, or your affiliated organization, is interested in furthering our mission together, please reach out to a member of our team.

GET INVOLVED

COVID-19

HACER is proud to be in partnership with the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) in hosting a COVID-19 hotline.  We also provide free and accessible COVID-19 vaccine and COVID-19 testing clinics for our communities in Minnesota.

If you are in search of community resources available, reach out and we can direct you to testing locations, bilingual information, or other organizations that can help.

Through our COVID-19 hotline, we offer information regarding the coronavirus, vaccine clinics and sites, support for quarantine and COVID-19 tests, information about rental assistance during this time of COVID-19, and resource referrals.  COVID-19 resource referrals can include anything from help with food, health services, and employment – regardless of immigration status.
